New Flats in Derek and Alton Gardens / Fencing Problems in Biscay
New flats on old garage sitesDevelopers are to replace run down and disused garage sites in Alton and Derek Gardens with new and well designed affordable flats. Residents concerns in Derek Gardens have been addressed by ward councillors. who have agreed with the council that the developers will be asked to reduce the number of flats from 13 to 11 and reduce the height of the development to two storeys only. Where possible, landscaping will remain in the Derek Gardens development to ensure that properties opposite are not overlooked Fencing Problems in Biscay
The giant new development behind Biscay (just off Western Approaches) with luck will soon become a giant car sales centre. Work has been halted for some time and is now proceeding at a painfully slow rate. Meanwhile the residents of Biscay have to put up with a long and deteriorating fence which does nothing to hide the noise and sight of the building works. The promised hedgerow to replace the fencing is still awaiting serious attention. Return to Local Issues in St Laurence Ward home page.
