Manners Way Road Safety Measures

Manners Way

Manners Way speeding problems

Following the fatal and near fatal accidents in Manners Way, local residents got together and presented a petition to the council asking for stricter traffic controls in the area.

After intense pressure from Carole and Ted the matter was brought before the Traffic and Parking committee and it was agreed that speed loops would be put in the roadway to provide accurate information about the number and average speed of traffic in Manners Way.

When the results are known, a meeting will be set up to decide what measures the local residents would prefer. Pedestrian crossings, speed cameras or speed humps. This is urgent and important. The traffic in Manners Way is ever increasing and we cannot afford to wait until someone else is killed or injured.

The good news is ...

It has been agreed that a pedestrian crossing will be built at Warners Bridge Roundabout in the near future. The plans were confirmed by director Steve Kearney at a committee meeting at the end of last year.
